It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Vijay, who left us on April 2nd at the age of 62.
Vijay will be remembered as an incredibly generous, selfless, and hardworking man who dedicated his life to the well-being and happiness of his family.
He was the kind of person who was always helping others, never thinking twice about putting someone else’s needs before his own.
In 1986, with only $20 to his name, Vijay arrived in Canada in search of a better life for his wife and daughter. He stayed with Uncle Paul and Auntie Judy as he began building a future from the ground up.
His journey was not easy—he worked tirelessly, sweeping floors at Toyota for long hours, then continuing his day with additional shifts at a West Indian store just to make ends meet.
Through determination, resilience, and an unwavering belief in providing more for his family, he rose from those humble beginnings in sweeping, to working in construction, and eventually into management.
His story is one of perseverance, sacrifice, and strength—proof of what hard work and heart can achieve.
Vijay believed in enjoying life’s rewards and never spared any expense when it came to food and bringing joy to those he loved. Whether it was steak and lobster, the perfect Chinese meal, or a cherished Sunday tradition of stew chicken, he created moments that his family will forever hold close to their hearts.
He also found peace and happiness by the ocean and at the beach—places that reflected his calm spirit and deep appreciation for life’s simple, beautiful moments.
Above all, Vijay was a devoted father and family man. His legacy is one of love, generosity, and unwavering dedication.
Vijay's hands built a future, but his heart built a family. Though he may no longer be with us, his love, his sacrifices, and the life he built for his family will never be forgotten.
He leaves behind his loving family, who will continue to carry his values and strength forward every day.
In our hearts, you will always stay loved and remembered every day.
Your legacy lives on in the love and values you instilled in us.
