Obituary of Enrico Osso
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Enrico Osso. He passed away peacefully on February the 8th at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, with his family by his side.
Born in Paola, Cosenza, Italy on November 20th, 1930, Enrico was the beloved husband of the late Delfina, and the hardworking father to Marie (Emmanuel), and Franca (Steve). He will be forever remembered for his resilience and determination by his grandchildren: Stephen (Christina), Anthony (Erica), Robert (Jessica), Julianna, Stephanie, and great-grandson Baby Wyatt. He was a cherished brother and brother-in-law both here in Canada and in Italy.
Enrico was widely recognized for his incredible variety of tomatoes grown in his expansive garden that he tirelessly maintained. His garden was his pride and joy. He was a remarkable Briscola/Scopa player, as he could remember all the cards that had been played. His family fondly recalls gathering around the table during the holidays while Enrico mercilessly won every hand.
Enrico leaves behind a legacy of love, tenacity, and dry humor. He was a strong, determined man which contributed to his long life.
Heartfelt thanks to his PSW Ashley who worked tirelessly and selflessly to provide for his well being until he took his last breath. We are truly grateful for all the love and support she provided Enrico and to the family.
To Daniel, Ade, Dammy, Gloria, and Jude, thank you for the compassionate care you provided.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at De Stefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa, Ontario. L1J0C7. The Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, February 12th at 12:00 pm at St. Mary of the People Catholic Church in Oshawa. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Whitby.
