Obituary of Mary Ann Donahoe

MARY ANN DONAHOE (NEE DURFY) 

June 22, 1946 -Febuary 11, 2025

Beloved wife of 56 years to John Francis Donahoe. Proud mother and Mother-in-law to: Julie & Jordy, Jason & Marcie, and Bob & Michelle. Loving grandma to Jake and Rachel Donahoe.

Mary Ann loved her decades-long work as an RN, being able to help expectant mothers deliver their babies at Ajax-Pickering Hospital, keeping the public safe through her work at the Durham Regional Health Department, and finishing up her working "years" as a valued and caring home care nurse. While she did eventually retire from her "career" of caring for people, she made use of her time "off" to continue to take care of her own family, grandkids, and spend time helping out at the Newcastle food bank.

Well known for her love of entertaining and being social, one of Mary Ann's greatest pleasures was simply being surrounded by and included with the many wonderful nurses, neighbors, long-time friends, and family that gave her years of laughter, joy, and compassion.
