Obituary of Octavio Borges Deviveiros

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Octavio “Tav” Borges Deviveiros.

On March 19, 2025, at Lakeridge Health Ajax Pickering Hospital, surrounded by his entire immediate Family, Heaven gained him as an Angel at 6:20pm at the age of 52.

He is survived by his Wife Sandy of 27 years and his four Children – Twins: Jacoub and Kaitlin (24), Meggan (21) and Emma (14), Parents: Antonio and Natalia Deviveiros and his Siblings: Osvaldo Manuel Deviveiros, Brenda Rocha and their families.

He provided for his family as an Outside Operations Supervisor, specializing in Mechanical HVAC Sub-Contracting. Tav touched the hearts of many as a Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Brother-in-Law, Uncle, Godfather, Nephew, Cousin and Friend.

He was born in Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel Island in the Acores. Recently, Tav and his Family enjoyed a vacation to Sao Miguel to see his homeland.

Tav’s heart would glow when he had his home filled with Family and Friends. He enjoyed long motorcycle rides with his BROMISTA RC Brother’s, vacationing to several beach destinations and manning his BBQ. His infectious laughter will be missed.

Tav was a jack of all trades and master of none, which poised him to be the first person to call when someone needed his MacGyver skills! Tav would drop anything he was doing to lend a helping hand.

His spirit will be held alive by a tremendously long line of extended Family and Friends.

In lieu of flowers, we ask a donation in Tav’s honour to Heart & Stroke Foundation or The Canadian Cancer Society.

Visitation will be held at De Stefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, in Oshawa on Thursday, March 27th, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, and again from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Service will be held the following morning, Friday March 28th at De Stefano Funeral Home, beginning at 10:30 am.
