Obituary of Gilbert Colbary

Gilbert C. Colbary, 69 of Oshawa, Ontario, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025 at Lakeridge Health Hospital in Oshawa, after a long struggle with kidney disease but succumbed to cancer.

Gilbert was predeceased by his parents, Elizabeth “Betty” Colbary (82) and John “Jack” Colbary (75). He was the youngest of seven children, survived by two sisters, Jackie, Bea and brother David. Also many nieces and nephews whom he loved.

Gilbert is survived by his devoted wife, Ida of 44 years, two children and three grandchildren who will all miss him dearly. The loving father of Melissa, Thomas, (Jenelle), and grandfather of Sophie (apple of his eye), Tyson, and Thomas Jr.

Gilbert had a love for sports, especially hockey, golf, baseball - huge fan of the New York Yankees - Dallas Cowboys.

He was a good neighbour, and loved his extended family, and friends.

Fondly remember Gil with happiness and the good memories that you shared with him with a smile and a prayer.
