Obituary of Gina Stewart

Surrounded by her loving family, Gina Ida Stewart, 75, of Bownamville, Ontario, passed away on July 1, 2025 in Cobourg. Gina was born in Trieste, Italy to Ruggero and Francesca Sabadin on June 3, 1950. She immigrated to Canada with her family when she was 9. She went to Ajax High School and worked with the Town of Ajax for 32 years before retiring to dedicate her time to her true loves, her grandchildren. She enjoyed music and dancing, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.

Gina is survived by her daughter, Della, her beloved grandchildren Marina (Josh) and Isaiah, her brother Walt (Yolanda), nephews Steve (Dara) and Jamie (Lauren), and her cherished great-nephews Reece, Jude, Reid and great-niece Emi. She will be lovingly remembered by Frank, extended family, and her friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Ruggero and Francesca and partner Don.

Visitation will be held at DeStefano Funeral Home on Friday July 4, 2025 at 12pm. Funeral service will be held at DeStefano Funeral Home on Friday July 4, 2025 at 1pm followed by a private inurnment. Visitors are invited to attend a celebration of life reception at DeStefano Funeral Home after the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ed's House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre, 1301 Ontario Street, Cobourg, ON K9A 0N3. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to staff at Bowmanville Hospital and Ed’s House Hospice for their compassionate care.
