Obituary of Libera "Maria" Posteraro

It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Libera “Maria” Posteraro. She is survived by her husband Mariano of 63 years and her loving children Angelo, Lina (Domenico), Silvana (Vincenzo) and Roberto as well as her cherished grandchildren Joseph, Michela, Cristian and Claudia. Predeceased by her mother Francesca, her father Emilio and her sisters Giulia, Antonietta and Carmela. Maria will be lovingly remembered by her large extended family and friends, but especially her nephew Marty (Menotti) and his wife Nancy Ciccia and her niece Francesca and her husband Giorgio DiMeglio from New Jersey, USA.

Maria began sewing at the age of 10 and was an expert seamstress. She had many clients and took pride in the many outfits she made. She worked in Dress Boutiques, Bridal Salons and retired from Sklar Peppler Furniture Company.

Maria was a kind, generous and thoughtful woman. She loved spoiling her grandchildren, neighbourhood kids and all the children she knew with candy, chocolate, cookies and their favourite foods.

Maria was a wonderful homemaker and an excellent cook. She will be fondly remembered for the many delicious Christmas dinners that she hosted for family and friends as well as other holidays and many get togethers.

She especially loved hosting her family who visited from the United States. 

Visitation will be held at De Stefano Funeral Home on Monday July 28, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be at held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday July 29, 2025 at 11:00 am. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Whitby
