To Crystal and her loving family.
At such a time, emotions are beyond the grasp of words. So, to express our grief and hope, we’ve borrowed the closing stanza of a poem called “For Grief” written by the celebrated Irish philosopher and Celtic Spirituality mystic, John O’Donohue.
Requiesce in pace, Crystal.
You were and are loved and you are loveable. You will live in the hearts of your loving family.
The angels are calling you home; we send you with our love.
Your Great-Uncles Stan and Pierre
FOR GRIEF
by John O’Donohue
“Gradually, you will learn acquaintance
With the invisible form of your departed;
And when the work of grief is done,
The wound of loss will heal
And you will have learned
To wean your eyes
From that gap in the air
And be able to enter the hearth
In your soul where your loved one
Has awaited your return
All the time.”

Q: How did you meet Crystal?
A: Crystal and I met back in 1996 when we went to Grandview public school together. I remember missing her when she wouldn’t be there, she was my only true friend. Years passed when we didn’t talk until one day, we reconnected in 2007 at the mall for Canadian idol, I was leaving and she was just auditioning we would message each other randomly through out the rest of those years. 2018 we got very close. We started talking a lot more, sharing secrets, pain, laughter, tears. She was my go to girl in more ways than she knew. My spooky bestie, who loves her family/babies so much! I don’t go one day without thinking about her, thinking of certain memories that brings tears to my eyes. There will always be a void in my heart that will always be wanting to reach out to her. I will forever share her memories and cherish every moment I had with her.
Here’s my first memory: Crystal and I sitting together outside for lunch break, she pulls a bag out and I ask what is it? She said it’s Crab, I said Crab?! She laughed and said yeah? You never had crab before? I said no.. she said wanna try it? I said okay? She said it kinda tastes like chicken. She went on about how it was imitation crab. Never in my life would I ever think to have crab for lunch lol but it’s a core memory I have of her and to me it’s a funny little memoir I thought I’d share.
I will always love you Crystal, I will always miss you and

The photo’s are when we were in a class photo, Crystal being in the white dress and I in the red dress. The last photo is one she sent me that I found in our chat history, I still remember that sweater.
