Obituary of Juliet Lewis

Juliet Jennifer Lewis, age 77 from Oshawa, Ontario, passed away peacefully on November 6th, 2025. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunty and friend who brought warmth and kindness to all who knew her. 

She was the devoted mother of Dawn and Pierre Lewis and cherished grandmother of Adriyel McDowell, Ivana, Ella-Marie, Jenna-Rose Lewis and mother-in-law of Leah Lewis. She was the daughter of the late Theophilus and Virginia Lewis and was the last surviving sibling of Coleridge, Bob, Kenneth, Russell, Neville, Joyce, Janet, and Jean of the Lewis family from Forest Reserve and Pepper Village, Fyzabad in Trinidad & Tobago.  A loving aunty to many nieces and nephews and cousin to Crooks, James, Edwards, Samuel, Lewis and Henry families and others and a friend of the Andrews, Alexander, Bobb, Cupid, Pilgrim, and Salandy families of Forest Reserve, Trinidad & Tobago among many others. 

After graduating from Naparima Girls High School in Trinidad and Tobago, Juliet obtained her Bachelor of Arts in 1971 from the University of Manitoba and Bachelor of Education in 1975 from the University of Toronto. Afterwards, she spent many years as a Geography teacher and head of the Social Studies department at Fyzabad Composite Secondary School and also gave her life to community service as a YTEPP centre manager for Fyzabad in Trinidad and Tobago. 

Juliet had a passion for gardening, cooking, reading, and spending time with those she loved. Her calm presence, quiet strength, and gentle spirit left a lasting impact on everyone around her. She will be remembered for her resilience, her love for her family, and her peaceful nature. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, kindness, and quiet wisdom that will be treasured by all who have the privilege of knowing her.

Visitation will be held at De Stefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa, ON, on Thursday, November 20th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service in the Funeral Home Chapel.
