Barry will be forever remembered and cherished by his extended family, many nieces and nephews, special friends and all who knew and loved him.

Barry Foster was born in 1940 in Blackburn, Lancashire, England to Thomas and Myra Foster. The family moved several times in the area, Thomas doing home renovation work, with Tom and Barry also eventually joining the family business. In 1957 the family emigrated to Toronto where they attended several Brethren churches. When Thomas and Myra decide to move back to England, Barry and his sister Rosemary decided to stay in Canada where they attended The Peoples Church.

Barry worked at the Toronto Dominion Bank as Teller and Accountant and then for CRA as a Tax Auditor from which he retired after 35 years of service.

Barry met Val in 1966 and they married in June of 1967. Together they served the Lord in many capacities in many churches over the years. Barry served as Board member, Deacon, Sunday School teacher, Youth Leader, Sports program (especially soccer), as well as serving in the church wherever needed. He had the heart of a servant and a love for youth and children as he motivated them with his spiritual gift of encouragement. With his boundless energy he would play with his grandchildren until they gave up first. His humour never changed as he retold the same jokes and everyone laughed as though hearing them for the first time. People of all ages were drawn to him as he loved and accepted everyone exactly as they were, while always encouraging them to look to the Lord and trust Him for all they needed.

His faith carried him throughout his life especially during the last 5 years as he was bedridden and no longer could play with his grandchildren or do the things that he had always loved to do. He was a man of movement, and we rejoice in the freedom he now has in Heaven in the presence of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

A Private Celebration of Love will take place at a later date.
