Obituary of Satish Makhija

Satish Kumar Makhija, age 71, of Toronto, Ontario, passed away on December 24, 2025.

Satish was born in Hisar, India, to Visanda Ram and Ishwar Devi, who predeceased him. He was a devoted husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Manju and his son Amit.

He is lovingly survived by his son Sumeet, daughter-in-law Emily, and his cherished grandson Nazario, who brought him immense pride and happiness.

Satish was one of many siblings and is survived by Shashi Bhushan (Janice). He was predeceased by Mohan (Meena), Chander Bhan, (Krishna), Bhag Vanti, Manorma (Chugh),

He will be deeply missed by his nieces and nephews in Canada: Taruna, Yogeeta (Ashu), Ann (Gerry), Arun, Paul (Anne), and Dave (Alyse), as well as his great-nieces and great-nephews Jacqueline, Jazz, Mikaela, Jaadu, Diya, Jay,

 Louis, Sebastien and Ethan. Satish is also fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews in India.

Satish was a man of remarkable generosity and kindness. He loved feeding birds and found purpose in volunteering at food banks, always giving back to those in need. A passionate actor, he appeared in multiple films and took great joy in the art of performance. He knew how to enjoy the simple things in life and was grateful for all that he had. Known for his selflessness, Satish would even give the shirt off his back to help someone else.

His gentle spirit, compassion, and unwavering generosity touched countless lives. Satish’s legacy of love, service, and humility will live on through his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He will be forever loved, deeply missed, and always remembered.
