Obituary of Elizabeth Gray

Elizabeth, at the age of 86, passed away peacefully on January 1 2026, surrounded by love and the family she cherished so deeply.

A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother (Gigi), and soul mate to the late Kenneth Gray.  Mother to James (Rollande), John (Shelley), Lianne (John) late Robert(Janice). Grandmother to Greg (Cassie), Matt (Mary Ann), Michael (Elissa), Denver, Stephen (Alanna), Payton (Adam), Evan, Brianna (Shaq), Ryan. Gigi to Sydney, Kye, Alyssa, Lyla, Willow, Isla, Kane, Danica and Madeline.  Elizabeth found her greatest joy in her children.  Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting sense that everyone was welcome. She took immense pride in her family and followed each generation with genuine interest, encouragement, and unconditional love.

Elizabeth was known for her kindness, patience, quiet strength, quick wit and speaking her mind.  She gave her honest opinion, you always knew where you stood with Elizabeth.  She celebrated every milestone—big and small—and never missed an opportunity to remind her loved ones how proud she was of them.. Her legacy lives on in the close bonds she nurtured and the values she passed down.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and friends, whose lives are better for having been loved by her.

Visitation will be held at De Stefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa, ON, on Thursday, January 8th, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by the Celebration of Life in the Funeral Home Chapel at 12:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any contributions made to the following charities, a cause close to Elizabeth’s heart. 

ALS Society of Canada, Kidney Foundation of Canada,  Heart and Stroke or the Salvation Army.
