Obituary of Ramkissoon Persaud

Ramkissoon Persaud, lovingly known as Berbal, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026, in Ajax, at the age of 92. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather, and a cherished great-grandfather, whose life and presence were a blessing to his family.

Born in Esau and Jacob, Mahaicony Branch Road, Guyana, Ramkissoon lived a life rooted in love, humility, and quiet strength. A hardworking gentleman with a gentle heart, he showed his family what it meant to care deeply, to persevere, and to lead with kindness. He was the cherished husband of Minwattee (Seeta) Persaud and a proud father to six children: Savo, Cindy, GoPaul, Gaitre, Sham, and Besham.

He shared a special bond with his grandchildren - Ines, Julian, Christina, Stefanie, Alex, Peggy, Sonya, Shane, Brian, Allema, Josh, and Sarah - offering them steady guidance, patience, and unconditional love. His legacy also lives on through his great-grandchildren, Sofia, Eliana, and Zoey, who will grow up hearing stories of his life, his values, and the love he had for his family.

Ramkissoon will be remembered for his warm smile, gentle presence, and the quiet ways he showed up for those he loved. He leaves behind a family forever grateful for his life, his love, and the many memories that will continue to bring comfort and strength in the years ahead.

Visitation will be held at De Stefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa on Friday, January 30, 2026 from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm and Saturday, January 31, 2026 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, January 31st at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Duffin Meadows, Pickering.
