In Loving Memory of Ingrid Bernardo

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ingrid Bernardo, beloved wife of José,  caring mother of Steven (Jennifer) and Alexandra (Joseph), and adoring grandmother to Tyler, Andreas, Lily, Blake and Flynn. Ingrid passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 28th at the age of 82, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and quiet resilience.

Ingrid was known for her warm heart and unwavering compassion. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel seen and valued, offering her time, her listening ear, and her gentle wisdom without hesitation. Whether through small acts of kindness or profound moments of support, Ingrid touched countless lives in ways that will never be forgotten.

She approached life with grace and determination, facing challenges with courage and celebrating joys with humility. Ingrid found beauty in simple moments—shared laughter, meaningful conversations, and the comfort of being surrounded by those she loved.

To her family, Ingrid was a source of endless love and devotion. To her friends, she was a steady presence and a cherished confidant. Her absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Ingrid is survived by her loving family, and a wide circle of friends who will carry her spirit forward. She will be remembered not only for the life she lived, but for the love she gave so freely.

Visitation will be take place at DeStefano Funeral Home (1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa) on Friday, March 27th from 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at DeStefano Funeral Home from 4:00 pm- 5:00 pm. 

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Ingrid’s name can be made to the  Alzheimer’s society of Canada.
