In Loving Memory of George Sebastian Cardona

June 21, 1947 - August 9, 2026

On Sunday August 9, 2026, surrounded and embraced with love by his family, George peacefully passed away at the age of 79.  George will be lovingly remembered by his deeply cherished wife Theresa, his 3 loving daughters, Tania, Sandra and Grace (Jeremie), and his 7 adored grandchildren, Jessica, Julia, Lauren, Anthony, Sierra, Eva and George.

Proudly born in Malta to his parents Grace and Gerald, George was a sibling to: Josephine (late), Carmen, Joe, Mary, Leli, Pio, Rita, Tessie, Joan, and Gerald. As the eldest son, George spent his early years working alongside his father, who was a baker. It was there that George learned the value of hard work, dedication, discipline, and taking pride in a job well done. From his mother, Grace, he learned the qualities of strength, perseverance and the importance of putting family above all else. These lessons that he inherited from his parents would remain with him throughout his entire life and become the qualities for which he was successful in everything he accomplished.

George was a certified general machinist immigrating to Canada as a skilled tradesman at the tender age of 19 years old. While on a temporary work permit and committed to going back home to Malta, things changed very quickly when it was George's destiny to meet Theresa. After only a brief courtship, George decided to stay in Canada and marry the love of his life, beginning a beautiful marriage that would span nearly 58 years. If anyone needs assurance that love at first sight exists, this is it. 

At the age of 31, George’s hardworking spirit and entrepreneurial nature led him into business. He owned and operated Country Style Donuts in Oshawa, as well as a car wash and restaurant. True to his nature, he was never one to shy away from hard work, building the foundation of the restaurant himself.  At 42 years old, his career path turned to real estate where he thrived as a successful real estate broker for decades, including co-owning a successful commercial brokerage.

George lived a life with a profound sense of respect and courage. His values, his wisdom, his stories, and his love will continue to live on through his family and in the hearts of all those fortunate enough to have known him.

George had unwavering faith and an immense love for his family. His actions always matched his words. His biggest lesson to his family, was an eternal reminder that love is the greatest gift of all.

May George find everlasting peace in the arms of Our Lord.
