Obituary of Sandro Orrico

Sandro "Sam" Orrico (November 11, 1951 - August 29, 2022):

Close to nature all of his life, a proud and stubbornly individualistic farmer, through and through. Born in Calabria, Italy, Sandro spent much of his childhood in Argentina, before moving to Canada when he was 18. He followed his passion for farming all his life, until circumstances removed him from the land in 2021 and his health subsequently failed. His last months were spent in hospital care, ultimately succumbing to late-stage cancer on Monday, August 29, 2022 at Lakeridge Health Hospital in Oshawa, Ontario. He was 70 years of age. Survived by his three sons - Sean, Kyle ("Abrian") and Alex ("Joshua"). A private cremation was held and we encourage anyone looking to honour Sandro's memory to support your local farmers, plant a tree, or offer donations to Markham Food Bank.
