Pat,please accept our condolences on Frank’s passing. We are thinking about you and your family at this sad time. Frank was a wonderful man, gentle and kind. He gave a lot of time to help our mother and he always did so with a smile. We appreciate him and everything he did to make her life easier. Thank you, Pat, you and Frank will always be in our hearts.
Marilyn, Laurena, Judy, and Tanya.

Frank, the beloved MVS System Programming God of the IBM LAB. He knew that environment well and the staff that supported the environment even better. As a "youngster" fresh out of school he welcomed me to the team and took me under his wing. He also gave me just enough authority in the environment to hang myself, while already having deployed the safeguards so I wasn't able to crash the system. Many a time did he save my bacon!
Frank was lovingly known as the "old guy". He had been at the LAB forever, he always had a full head of grey hair, no one was allowed to change anything unless Frank ok'd it and he seemed to have soooo much more vacation time than the rest of us!
His family and fishing were his true passions and ridding raccoons from his attic, his true nemesis. He always had a tale of the fish he caught (or just got away). He was so happy that Pat also shared his joy of fishing... I think he was just glad he didn't have to choose!
It was a sad day when he retired, he was an institution and would be sorely missed. It did seem fitting that he sell his house in the city and move to his namesake place (Frankford) right on the water.
Old Guy, the world is a better place for you having been here. You touched so many of us over the years and I will never forget you. RIP my friend xo

Share a memory, write a tribute. I want to, I really do. But how to find the words for a man like my Uncle Frank. One of my earliest memories is Frank taking me to the Stouffville auction. I was pretty young and this was totally new to me. And quite the revelation. I've never met another person so interested in the world, so eager to try new (and often exotic) things, to acquire knowledge and test limits. As an uncle he teased me, challenged me, and made me feel special and loved, part of a family. We had some years where life kept us apart, but when we reconnected it was like no time had passed. I was still a kid and he was my Uncle Frank. Still diving perfectly into the pool, still helping me with IT issues, and bbqing up a storm. Teaching my kids to play pool and enjoying a good debate. Thank you for what we shared, and what you shared with my children. We will always remember, and you are always loved. Not that you would have loved the mushy stuff :-)
Oh, and fishing...catfish and muskies at Rice Lake...smelts in Lake Ontario when we were on Ritchie. So many good memories. Thank you.

A moment to reflect on my uncle Frank Underwood. He had a great career at IBM, back when IBM was a big deal. He was the best most dedicated fisherman I'd ever met in my life. He could light up any room. To me he always seemed to be laughing and in a good mood. He was generous. I remember when I was maybe 13 or 14 years old, my family was taking a road trip down the Atlantic coast and he loaned me his skin diving gear including a wetsuit so that I could go diving along the coast on the trip. The only way I was able to go into that water was thanks to that wetsuit because it was freezing. I remember nights of card games with uncle Frank, my aunt Pat Underwood , my grandparents and my parents. Uncle Frank always seemed to be laughing and my grandfather always seemed to be thumping the table. Frank my dad and my grandfather made a great trio. Back in the day they spent a lot of time together fishing, playing cards and just generally goofing around I guess. But I remember going and staying at Frank and Pat's house for weekends too to visit my cousin young Frank Underwood . My uncle had a 61 Volkswagen beetle and he'd let us sit in that back compartment behind the back seat, and we thought it was awesome. I have nothing but good memories of my uncle and I'm glad that he passed peacefully at home with family.

You were still mobile, but your memory was gone. We were at the kitchen table, I was in my regular spot, you in yours. So many meals we had shared at that table, so many delightful conversations, sharing times, trying out different ice creams....
Just you and me at the table. I looked up and you were studying me. I softly asked "do you remember me?" You replied "I don't, but I have the feeling we were close."
Big lump in my throat. Huge lump.
Yes, we were.
Birthdays, anniversaries, births, deaths, marriages, new homes, vacations, you name the milestone, we celebrated it.
There was always laughter, music, passion for life in your home. And kindness, always kindness.
You had the best life partner, your devotion to one another is an inspiration to everyone around you.
Thank you for everything, it was an absolute pleasure being called your niece.
Yes, we were close. You will be missed.

Frank was such a wonderful friend and neighbour. After he and Pat moved to our small village they both became some of our dearest friends.
We have nothing but great memories of Frank and will always cherish the great laughs we had together.
Rest in peace Frank.

What can we say. Mr Underwood was a great person to know and grow up around. Always happy I cannot remember one time he got upset with us / Brad and Mark for being BLOODY IDIOTS which we were good at. Diane and I learned a lot about life from Mrs and Mr Underwood. / Vudeo. We were always up on the newest electronics and what ever the library had . He was just a wealth knowledge and even had a flair for gardening and repurposing bbqs . Love Diane, Pete and Tyler . Our hearts go out to the family and everyone he touched
