Dear Mrs. Micheli and Family
It is with sadness and good memories that I remember your husband. He was my English teacher in grade 9 (1955).
I remember my first day in his class; We were all feeling a little fearful and ill at ease, when Mr. Micheli walked into the class room.
But we soon found that the tall gentleman had a calming voice and a quiet mannerism.
I was an immigrant student and my English was not well spoken. Mr. Micheli was very kind, supportive and understanding.
He, (may he rest in peace), had this interesting habit of pulling down the window shades before we started to read a story
to create a perfect ambiance.
my husband Bob taught with Ben Pankhurst at the Huntsville High School.
With Sincere Condolences,
Bob and Jane Taylor.
Huntsville, Ontario

So sorry to hear of Mr. Micheli's passing. I always remembered him with such wonderful memories of being such a big part of my school years at Central. They were the best of times, and truely the teachers were our mentors, and were never forgotten. His smile was infectious, and his charm and friendly manner always made the students feel like we were family and could always approach him without any hesitation with any concerns.
Our sympathies to your family at such a difficult time, and only wish that I would have been aware of his passing. God Bless you all, Larry and Fran Hutchison

Please accept my condolences. I was a student of Mr. Micheli when he first started to teach at OCCI. He was a role model as well as a great teacher. Often ran into him in Oshawa and he always remembered me.

I extend my sympathies to the Micheli family for your sad loss, an extraordinary gentleman and teacher who will forever live in the hearts of all he touched.
As a Central student from 59 to 62 I never had Mr. Micheli as a teacher; however, it was impossible not to get to know him as an upfront guy, always cheerful with a sense of humour and wit. My special memory is from Central’s 1990 anniversary reunion where Mr. Micheli addressed me by name – after 30 years from a cast of thousands! We enjoyed a short but sincere conversation even inquiring about another Centralite - my sister Jacki. Surrounded by former Central students, it was as if we were chatting in an OCCI hallway - a lovely parting memory.
God bless you and your family Mr. Micheli

How sad I was to hear of dear Mr. Micheli's passing. He was "King of the Library" at OCCI. He was always so patient, kind, helpful, and funny. A true gentleman! He was very forgiving too when I confessed that I still had War and Peace since 1966. I loved it so much that I didn't want to give it back. Rather than calculating the late fees for 30 years, I think it was easier just to let me keep it. Mr. Micheli, we at Central Collegiate had a friend, mentor, and inspiration in you. Thank you for all you did to influence the lives of your students.

"To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die". May this provide you with some sense of comfort.
Personally I will always remember, with a huge smile, playing with Rob & Ray - the second kitchen downstairs that I found confusing as a child - and oh so many wonderful memories of a wonderful family.

I had Mr. Micheli for my grade 9 form teacher in 1960. My brother Bill had him in grade 10 and we both felt very fortunate to have been blessed with the opportunity of knowing him. Over the years we both have run into him and he always remembered us and talked about those days in school. Our sincere sympathy to the family and may God Bless you at this time.

I encountered Mr. Micheli in my first year at O.C.C.I., in the Autumn of 1966...
He was the chief librarian there as I recall, & was a steadfast---but kind & approachable---teacher. I do not recall ANY student during all my years at Central who did not like him. I am sure that his 92 years were---besides being an admirable achievement!---happy and loving ones for both himself, and all those around him...

Oh so very many years ago..sitting in Central, being inspired, entertained, amused. Mr. Micheli is one of the reasons I became a teacher and have often told his story about the pen cap..it came out all right in the end. Retired myself, I can only hope I inspired someone . Rest in peace. Prayers for his family. He will be missed.
