The commotion caused Proto and Socksy to come into the lab to see what was happening. Tehanie, meaning flower!
Favorite flower orchids! I always thought that we would have golden years together, talking about books, travels, children, heartaches….
Your journey here with us has ended and your New Adventures have began in a place and time where we are yet to be invited.
In the short time you spent here, you somehow manage to gather people around you and made us all feel loved.
We have grown together, apart and together again. Despite Cancer taking you away, it brought us all closer in the last few years and for that I am grateful.
I will miss our morning chats and evening texts and midnights “ why are you up” I will miss planning to come and visit, updates about family and life.
Your light shone so brightly that the universe reached down and took you so that you maybe their brightest star in the sky. I will surely lookup every night to say “hi”
Your friendship and sisterhood has enriched my life and made it fuller and richer. The silly things like lunch under the Silk Cotton tree, goofing off under the tamarind tree waiting for a ride, eating lunch at The Y, laughing and living in the auditorium near the piano and then recent,y, sitting at the Lincoln memorial watching the planes, the Washington monuments, eating crab soup and lying in the hammock, drinking El Dorado and dancing to “ Sohani Rath” and most recently reading “ Tuesdays with Morrie” with Steph and Brand and having dinner, one of our best nights yet because your evening was coming to close.
When ever I listen to “ Seasons in the Sun” I always remember us singing in 2A, thinking we were cool, thank goodness for Hardai and Nerina because you and I singing……
Sharing secrets and understanding without talking, that was us.
“ We had joy, We had fun, we had Seasons in the Sun but the hills that we climb are all Seasons that are gone”
You will live on in my heart and my memory forever and ever until we read again!

She struck me as someone who had a great love of life, and a special love for her family and friends which she obviously cherished very much. I met Tina through her mother, Indra, who has been my dear friend since I moved to Guyana in 1991. I gradually developed a friendship with Tina, her husband Stephane, and their sons Xavier and Kian. They were always very hospitable and kind to me and my son Jesse, who is Indra's godson.
Tina confronted cancer with great courage, positivity and even humour. She kept all of us updated on her journey, and insisted that she would "kick cancer's butt". She was a beloved friend, and I can hardly believe that she is gone at such a young age. I will never forget her kindness, compassion, and sense of humour. She enjoyed life to the fullest and was intent on making memories with her family.
May God bless Indra, Stephane, Xavier and Kian with strength and peace in this difficult time. Sending you love and hugs from Jesse and me.
