Ah Don...what can I say other than we are all a little lost without you here. You always had a calm way about you that I admire and appreciated. You were always down for a laugh...never to old to be a kid, and absolutely amazing to me and my family. To say you'll be missed would be an understatement. Thank you for allowing me into your family's lives and trusting me with one of your most precious gifts. We will think of you often, cry sometimes, and love you forever.

When I was a kid, I loved polar bears. I remember Auntie Lynn and Uncle Don coming over to our house after going to a garage sale one day, and Uncle Don found a picture of polar bears in a red frame. He thought of me when he saw it and bought it for me. Uncle Don was always so kind and thoughtful. We love you, Uncle Don, and we will miss you!

Don, for me, you will always be remembered as a kind and gentle man with a fun and youthful heart. The guy with the quick one liners, the best partner for any card game or board game, and a Grandpa who has left the most wonderful imprint of memories with his grandchildren.
You were taken from your family and friends far too soon, and that loss runs deep. We hope you can rest in peace now without any more pain. Please know that you are deeply missed by those of us who feel grateful to have known you.

Don was always so kind and always made me laugh growing up with Di. I remember when we would vent about boys hurting us and he would say well if it doesn’t work out with men you can always marry each other and just be happy all the time! That is one of my favourite memories. Words cannot express how sorry I am and I will always remember the fun loving man he was.

It’s in moments like these that words fall short. I hope you know how much love we had in our hearts for Don. He will always be bound in our memories of special family events, pool parties (dating all the way back to Dallyn), time spent in Algonquin Park (with or without Sue's pants on) and so many other adventures. When spending time together we were often brought to tears from laughing so hard. We will miss Don.
We hope that your memories of Don bring you comfort and peace.
