I am still in shock of your early transition. The lord giveth and he taketh away, “Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord”. I’ve known Florence all my life. We grew up together at Miami Drive with her mom, Arabel Reid, now being 102 years still going strong), my mother (deceased), my dad (deceased) and my brother. Growing up with Florence was a joyful one, she was like a big sister to me.
I can remember on many occasions when going to church at Higholborn Street, we would have a long walk from Parade to church and she would help to lift me as I was the baby at the time.
We would sit outside mostly on a Sunday evening and play jacks (most persons might not know that game or even played it), we were not privileged to be on the outside due to our strict upbringing.
Florence was an individual who loves to see you well dress, hair well styled and well organized for whatever function you attend.
When it comes to praying that’s Florence. Nothing she would say or do without first praying. Florence loved God and reading his word was her daily food.
It’s so sad to see this day has reach when to say sleep on my cousin and take your rest, I loved you but Jesus loves you best.
Your memories will always remain with us. You will be missed by your loving mom, Arabell Reid, Judith, all your cousins, families and friends.
