Obituary of Angela Tzountzouris

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Angela Tzountzouris on Sunday, December 29, 2024.

Angela was born on May 4, 1940, in Ammohori (Peshoshnitsa), Greece to Lambros and Dafina Angelou.  She was the youngest of five children.  A brother, two sisters and a twin sister predeceased in infancy.  In 1964, she left her village for a better life in Canada.  She married Chris in 1965 and they had three children.  Together, they worked very hard in the restaurant business. For many years, they ran Haugen’s Chicken & Ribs Barbeque in Port Perry. Today, their determination lives on at Haugen’s, a treasure in the community.

Angela was always surrounded by her large family and circle of friends. Everyone adored her poupche and pizza. Angela will be remembered by her loving children, Stephen (Lynn), John (Vicki) and Tina (George). Her grandchildren, Alexia, Christopher, Connor, Sophia, William, Nicholas and Cameron will cherish their sweet memories of Palm Beach Shores, Florida with their Baba and Dedo.

On behalf of the family, we would like to thank the staff at Willows Estate for their excellent and thoughtful care of Angela over these past two years.

Visitation will be held at the De Stefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa (south side of Taunton Road, east of Thornton Road by the Oshawa Airport) on Wednesday, January 8th from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, January 8th at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Pine Ridge Memorial Gardens, Ajax.
