I am an old friend of Tracey Duffett and have looked for her for many years. We were very close friends in Vancouver.
Mutual friends, Robert Richmond and Duane O'Kane and many more.
Would love to know she is ok as she had a rough time many years ago.

Grandfather,It's so hard to believe you left us 3 weeks ago today. It still doesn't feel real to me. I don't think it has begun to sink in yet. I hoped that we would have had much more time together. I keep looking at the pictures of you, Nick and I when we were just little kids. You loved seeing all of your grandchildren on a regular basis. We all love you so much. I am so grateful for everything you ever did for me. Whenever I had a problem, you always had a solution. You were always so generous to everyone. It didn't matter who it was, you helped anyone and everyone. I always looked up to you and you had a big impact on my life. It's going to be hard not having you around all of the time. I am going to miss seeing you every morning and afternoon. I am so thankful that I got to see you as much as I did. I will never forget the things you did and how hard you worked! You brightened so many people's futures and helped lots succeed. I will miss you forever. I love you.
Bye now........

I was informed today of Eric's passing. What a shock! I simply could not believe it. My sincerest condolences to all his family, friends and associates. I feel terrible I was not present at his memorial service. His life and accomplishments were certainly deserving of celebration. He was a great and caring person who extended a wonderful opportunity to me and many others. I learned a lot from his experience and wisdom. He was always encouraging, upbeat and friendly. Many times we don't know the treasures in our midst until they're gone. Eric was a treasure that won't be replaced. Rest in peace, Eric. We will meet again!

hi Jennifer; I'm sorry to post a note like this here on a remembrance of your father. First of all, condolences on his passing. I know it was a few years ago now but I still over those thoughts and I hope you're well. Are you by chance related to a Tracey Duffett who lived in Ottawa at one point? I see a few others on this thread also looking for her. If you see this, please let me know. Liammaguirech24@gmail.com Thank you.

The news of Eric's passing came to us as a tremendous shock.
I first met Eric and Janice on a work Conference about 10 years ago, and we became personal friends enjoying their company and friendship both at Conferences and cruising holidays together.
He had a love of life, always an upbeat outlook and was a kind and caring person - a true gentleman.
Jackie and I will miss him deeply but are grateful for memories of fun and much laughter. Our hearts go out to Janice and Family

Eric....Here I sit a full week later reliving the suddenness of your leaving. I feel robbed of all our tomorrows but so very blessed for all the lovely memories we have shared and that we were fortunate to have had the luxury of visiting so much of the world in the company of good friends and colleagues. The fact that you were able to finally rest after so much stress and worry is a true gift from God. He took you quickly and painlessly. Selfishly....I only wish it had been much much later in our lives together. My world stopped and will never be the same. I miss you so very much and will truly love you forever. Until we meet again sweetheart........Janice. x

Janice and Eric's family
Marta and I are so very sorry to get this news of Eric's death. It seems our move away from the Toronto area has played its part in keeping us from staying in touch more often. At least we had email which is the way I had kept in touch with Eric. It was always our intent to get together for a cup of coffee and a chat. This is something I will always remember doing with Eric. He was always willing to make time to get together. Now, our next chat will have to wait. I will miss him but he will be in my heart forever. My wish for you and the family Janice, is that you gain comfort knowing Eric touched so many people in such a positive way. He will be missed.
You are in our hearts.

To the family:
Please accept my heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathy for the loss of Mr. Duffett. It will be a challenging holiday season ahead without Eric, and a time that will need a good measure of reflection, and healing. For the 5 short years that I knew Mr. Duffett, he was a charming and generous man; a true gentleman. We had met a few times in that span, the most memorable being in 2010, for a very honest and candid 2 hour conversation at a coffee shop in Oshawa, just before I joined the preneed industry full-time. I'm very grateful for the advice, knowledge, and wisdom that he kindly shared with me, and I regret losing the opportunity to thank him again personally. Please know that he made a positive impact on my career, and 1 that will last my lifetime, and that I feel fortunate to have known him.
-David.

Janice,
It's hard to know just what to say at this sad time because your loss is so great and because Eric will be missed in so many ways. But even though no words can truly comfort you, perhaps they can, in some small way, express the depth of care and concern that's felt for you now. In the short time I knew Eric, there was constant evidence of a kind and gentle man.
My deepest sympathy to you and families.

I wish to extend my sincere heartfelt condolences to the Duffett family upon hearing of Eric's sudden death. I have had the privilege over the years of spending many hours with Eric bantering over new ideas and concepts that we thought might better the profession that he loved passionately and the families that we both served. To the Duffett family, you have lost a life partner, a father and a grandfather whereas we have lost a fellow worker in the profession and he will be deeply missed. Know that Eric often spoke so very highly and lovingly of you all, his family, during our discussions and know also that Eric had the privilege that many people today never experience and that is knowing he did with his life what he knew he was supposed to be doing. He fulfilled his purpose, his reason for being. He will most definitely be missed by everyone; family, friends, colleagues, his hockey team mates and casual acquaintances. We will remember him well.
