CRITES, Steven “Opie” Matthew (35 Year Toronto Firefighter, Hall 226)
Passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on August 18, 2016 at the age of 56 years. Loving husband of Lori for 28 years. Cherished father of Carly. Beloved son of Audrey and the late Raymond. Dear brother of Sandy (Al). Steve will be fondly remembered by his niece Lauren and nephew Kyle. “Opie” will be forever remembered by the brotherhood of firefighters. Visitation will be held at the DeStefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa(south side of Taunton Road, east of Thornton Road by the Oshawa Airport)905-440-3595 on Wednesday, August 24th from 2:00-4:00pm & 7:00-9:00pm. A Service to Celebrate Steve’s life will be held in the DeStefano Chapel on Thursday, August 25th at 10:00am. In memory of Steve, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
