Obituary of Richard Donald Thompson

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Richard Donald Thompson. After a courageous fight he peacefully earned his wings at the age of 60, on Wednesday September 14th at Lakeridge Health Oshawa surrounded by the strength and support of his family. Rick will forever be cherished by his adoring wife and best friend Donna, his four wonderful sons Darren (Jennifer), David (Aerlyn), Matthew (Genevieve), Ricky (Ken), his grandchildren Emrey, Caden, Ryan, Ryder, Zoey, his sisters PattieSue and Terry, and is now reunited with his brother Ken. He will be admired and missed by his extended family, his beloved dog Lacy, many friends, and all that had the pleasure of knowing him. Rick will be honoured and remembered with a celebration of his life at DeStefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa on Saturday September 24th 1:00-5:00pm. In Lieu of flowers, in his memory donations can be made to Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre.
