Our wonderful memories of Andre are through our daughter Courtney, who also had cancer and met Andre at Camp Ooch. Also Andre came to our house when Courtney had a Celebration of Life party in 2012 when she was 5 years cancer free.We loved listening to Andre's stories, he was so inspiring and so positive. He always had a smile on his face. Our family knows all too well what you're going through and the pain you are feeling, as we lost Courtney at the age of 24 to a tragic car accident in February 2014.Andre will continue to inspire us all, and we send our deepest love and support to your family during a time when we cannot even begin to try to understand any of this on our own.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
God bless you,

Dre was a good friend of mine that I met on Starbright World. He helped me through some of the most difficult times in my life. He had a wonderful sense of humor and allowed me to nickname him "Moose" because he was Canadian. I will treasure the memories, lessons, and life he shared with me. Rest easy, Moose.

We had the pleasure of meeting Andre at the POGO gala a few years ago. My daughter was diagnosed with Leukemia and we were both speaking at the event. I was honored to have met him. And inspired. We discovered we also lived in Whitby and kept connected via Facebook. I had asked him questions to help with my daughter and he always shared his experience. I was so sorry to hear this news as he was one very special guy.xo the Flanagan Family

When my mom was diagnosed with cancer Andre was who I mentioned in every conversation when I spoke to my mom especially when she felt like giving up.
Met him once, but it was truly an honor to have met him.
An angel has gone home to take his rightful place in heaven

Like many others, I am so blessed to say that I am better for having the pleasure of knowing Andre. I met Andre through Camp Ooch and feel so lucky to have been able to get to know him and call him a dear friend. Andre had big dreams and although he had already made a difference in so many lives, I knew that his strength, compassion and intelligence would lead him to amazing things. He was an incredible friend, and one of the bravest and most caring people I will ever know. I am certain that his love for those around him were influenced strongly by a strong and loving family that stood with him through everything. Sending all my love and condolences.

Andre, you have had a tremendous impact on my life and I'm sure I'm not alone. You lived your life with such amazing grace and humility, never one to complain or be held back by your circumstances. When we first met at Camp Ooch, you rolled in to see me in a wheelchair. We talked about school and how we might one day work together to help you reach your academic goals. The next time I met you, I came to your house and you stood at the front door. I commented, "weren't you in a wheelchair last time we met?" You gave one of your little, wonderful Andre chuckles and revealed to me, "oh, that must have been shortly after I had my double lung transplant." From that moment I was in awe of you and your way of being in the world. You continued to show me that you weren't about your medical stuff as much as it was a part of you. You were about living a good life despite it. You were about sharing your complex medical past when it served a purpose, but you did not dwell there. You were about making and keeping connections. You were about giving back with your time, your energy, your insights. You were a teacher in so many ways. I will miss your gentle voice, your glasses and baseball cap, your unique and beautiful skin, your unexpected and delightful emails and messages and your way of mulling things over to make the best decision or reach the right conclusion. The day before you passed away, I sent you an unprompted email after months of going about our own lives and me being naïve about the extent of your health struggles. I fear it sits in your inbox, unseen. For that missed opportunity to hear from you one more time and to let you know that you were on my mind, I will always be saddened. However, I do look forward to celebrating, truly celebrating your life among the many friends and your family that have had the honour of sharing life with you. I hope you'll be listening in. Thank you for everything.
