Obituary of Emma Murphy

Murphy: Emma Born on June 2, 1937 Emma passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Monday January 9, 2017 at the age of 79. Beloved wife of Delphis. Loving mother of Audie, Lloyd (Joanne) and Ronnie. Loving Nana, Margie (Vince), Cameron, Nicole (Allan), Michelle (Scott). Great Nana of Noah, Isla. Sister of Bernice Morin. Emma will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, and friends. A special thank you to Carol Hill, her friend and PSW, her neighbours Kirk and Ivy. Visitation will be held at the DeStefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa(south side of Taunton Road, east of Thornton Road by the Oshawa Airport)905-440-3595 on Wednesday, January 11th from 6:00-9:00pm. A funeral mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church 91 Ribblesdale Drive, Whitby on Thursday, January 12th at 10:30am. In memory of Emma, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. One night I dreamed a dream. As I was walking along the beach with my Lord. Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, One belonging to me and one to my Lord. After the last scene of my life flashed before me, I looked back at the footprints in the sand. I noticed that at many times along the path of my life, especially at the very lowest and saddest times, there was only one set of footprints. This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it. "Lord, you said once I decided to follow you, You'd walk with me all the way. But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life, there was only one set of footprints. I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me." He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you Never, ever, during your trials and testings. When you saw only one set of footprints, It was then that I carried you."
