I just read the thank you note in the local paper and was sad to read that Liz died. Although I have not seen Liz in many years, I have fond memories of working with her at Voyageur in Newcastle. She was fun and funny. I am sorry for your loss and wish you comfort at this time.

Lizardbeth...it's taken me quite some time to be able to post something without having to stop and start over. I am still in shock. We spent so many years together on the ball field and many more as friends. It’s all so surreal. My heartfelt condolences to your family. Your funeral was you…all you. Your choir was amazing and kept making me cry. James' eulogy was beautiful. He did you proud! I will miss you my dear friend as will all who knew you. Take care until we meet again, and sing like an angel like you always did. : )
Your friend,
Leanne Mac Inally

Liz was a wonderful passionate person. Her remembrance celebration was a true reflection of how many lives she touched and how full of life she always was. I was lucky to have shared a passion for finamce with her. She was highly regarded amongst all her peers for her drive to make things right. And she did that. I will miss her very much and still think of her many words of wisdom.

I'm sorry I couldn't be there in person to express my condolences to the Araujo family. I remember Elizabeth from earlier times when I was just a kid. I remember her with her brothers Dave, James and Dan. Elizabeth was always so nice, and even after many years I was always surprised that she remembered me, when we occasionally crossed paths.
I can only imagine the sadness and emptiness the loss of a daughter and sister can have on a family, but we have faith that Elizabeth is in a better place. Elizabeth will be in our thoughts and prayers.
Together in Christ,
Tony, Melannie, Sara and Marcus

WHERE'S MY SISTER?
Fifty-one years ago my parents arrived home with Liz. I've heard the story many times that when they came through the door that's the first thing they heard from me, an excited "Where's my sister!?!". Liz has been a part of my life since. I'll always remember is how she loved animals, loved Christmas, hated peas, loved music.
Liz and I shared a deep love of music. I don't think she ever knew how much it meant to me when she'd ask me to play for the choir, or how much it meant to play with her for Dan and Jody's wedding. I know, and that will have to do.
Through the past 51 years, growing up together, choosing our life paths, living towns apart, my sister was always there. Just a call or a drive away.
In her final days I have seen how she has touched so many lives over the years. The love and support for Liz, and our family, has been amazing. So many people have come to truly love her.
Now, when I think 'where's my sister', I'll know she's where she always was, in my thoughts, my heart, in so many hearts, and in the music.

As life gets busy and we grow older, form new friendships, and have families we sometimes put people in our back pocket, figuring they will always be there for us. That was Liz to me. I drank, played baseball, watched the Blue Jays win a World Series and confided in her as a good friend for several years. I will forever remember her as the person who always had a logical answer to my emotional problems and wish I could have those times back. She will always be in my heart. Today I send my love to her family and thank them for all that she provided me.

I want to extend my condolences to the family as well as convey my regret of not being able to do so in person as I will be out of the country.
I am confident that I can speak on behalf of the Town when I say that Liz was held in the highest regard with respect to her congeniality, professionalism and expertise. I know that we are all struggling to make sense of the loss of someone who was so young and had so much to contribute...at a time when when very little in life makes sense.
During this most difficult time I know that Liz' many friends and colleagues will rally around you as you try to cope with harsh aspects that life seems to deliver in such an unfair manner.
Sincerely,
Ken Ferdinands, Councillor, Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville
