Obituary of Jeff Smith

SMITH, Jeffery Michael (OPG ERM, Part Time Clarington Fire Services)

Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of his family on August 16, 2017 after a brave fought battle with cancer at the age of 44.  Loving and devoted husband of Sarah.  Cherished father of Thomas, Owen, Olivia, Gavin and his beloved furry companion Teddy.  Beloved son of Jo-Ann and the late Thomas. Loving brother of Nicole (Mike) Tughan.  Dear son-in-law of Helen and Patrick Power, brother-in-law of Shannon (Tom) Power-Latulupe and Johanna (Bob) Malone.  Dear uncle of Aidan, McKenna, Emma, Abby and Jack.  Jeff will be lovingly remembered by his fellow coaches, parents and players on the Clarington Gaels Tyke 3 Team.  Visitation will be held at the DeStefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa (south side of Taunton Road, east of Thornton Road by the Oshawa Airport)905-440-3595 on Saturday, August 19, 2017 from 1:00-3:00pm.  A Service to Celebrate Jeff’s Life will be held in the DeStefano Chapel at 3:00pm.  In memory of Jeff, donations may be made to the Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre, Oshawa.
