Obituary of Jose Bernardo

Joe was born December 2, 1939 in Portugal to Claudina and José Bernardo.

Passed away peacefully surrounded by his beloved wife Ingrid, son Steven and daughter Alexandra on Monday, January 8, 2018 at the age 78.  Loving father of Dina (Todd), Ruth, Nelly, Miriam, Steven (Jen), Alexandra (Joey).  Cherished Opa of Tyler, Andreas, Lily, Blake and grandfather of Ross, Jacqueline, Spencer, Tess, Christian, Alysia and Amanda.  Joe was one of three children and is survived by his sister Claudina (Manuel) and brother Antonio (Amalia).  He will be greatly missed by his niece and nephew, many friends and family both in Canada and Portugal.  

Memorial visitation will be held at the De Stefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa (south side of Taunton Road, east of Thornton Road by the Oshawa Airport) 905-440-3595 on Friday, January 12th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.  A Funeral Service to celebrate Joe’s life will be held in the De Stefano Chapel at 3:00pm.  If desired, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
