Peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday January 21^st 2018, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Beloved husband of 25 years to Maria. Loving stepfather of Joe (Sherry) and Sandra (Mark).  Cherished grandfather of Stefanie (Adrian), Brittany (Vince), and Olivia (Matthew). Great grandfather of Liam, Grayson, and Edie.

Visitation will be held at the DeStefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa (south side of Taunton Road, east of Thornton Road by the Oshawa Airport) 905-440-3595  on Tuesday, January 23rd^th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm.  A Funeral Mass to Celebrate Elmar’s life will be held at St. John The Evangelist, 903 Giffard Street, Whitby on Wednesday, January 24^th at 10:00am.  A Private interment will take place at Elgin Mills Cemetery. If desired, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
