I am deeply saddened to hear that Jon passed away.
Jon will forever live in my memory for all the good times at university. For many years, my best days were spent with Jon. We shared a love for music, night clubs, beer, and pizza. And then there was the big debate about Ayn Rand. This, that, and the other thing that only Jon and I can talk about. Jon was also my best man at my wedding in New York. My wife and I enjoyed his funny humor and dedication that week in helping us both relax and prepare for our wedding day. Thanks to Jon's great personality and humble look on life Angela and my wedding day went off with great success. Even though the myself and the groomsman were 3 hours late to the wedding due to a NY taxi not knowing his way around town. But Jon keep me relaxed and reminded me that if she is worth it she will wait. We are still married 12 years later. Thanks Jon!
Cheers,
Paul and Angela Ellis

We are so very sorry to hear of Jon's untimely passing. We knew Jon from a very young age and he and our son Jeff spent so much together either at our house or his. They also went to Karate classes together. I (Marlene) would drive them there and pick them up after. The had good times together. Reading the obit it is good to know Jon did very well for himself career wise and that he had a lot of support from family and friends. Thinking of Jon and his family at this emotional time.
Sincerely
John and Marlene Mason in Port Hope

I am equally saddened and bewildered as Jon’s family, his life partner and friends are; Jon and I worked closely together after being introduced by his life partner and for 2 years wherever we went (as there were many) always introduced him as my Business Partner...
Honestly, there are no words nor do we have the capacity to express our true feelings for Jon; to me, he was the go-to person to help my clients tax issues and filings...
He was my go-to for professional accounting help and to me, he was the one who shared offices with me. Over an above he was kind, passionate and devoted the years leading up to his death, to look after his ailing mother.
As much as Jon was a true professional; I admired him even more because of his devotion to his mom; taking her to the doctor or simply being there for her.
After experiencing death at the personal level, know fully well, it’s going to take everyone a very, very, (if at all possible ) time to come to grip without Jon’s presence.
God speed my partner in crime (the legal crime), May god illuminate your grave, may your soul rest peacefully; however, we all know, deep down, after this life is an everlasting one; which will reunite us with everyone we shared this holy planet with.
I’m sad to see you go; to the ones left behind; I’m only a phone call away and to his life partner and her beautiful kids; have faith, reach out to your family and community to be there for you...
Our deepest condolences...
Riyad & Family

Jon and I became friends in grade 4. He lived just a five minute walk from my house. We played on the school volleyball and basketball teams together, and did track and field. In grade 9 we took up two new hobbies together: guitar and martial arts. We loved watching those cheesy Kung-Fu movies together, and we loved listening to hard rock music. Like many young boys, we wanted to be rock stars - or ninjas. I remember Jon and I practicing our new martial arts moves in the backyard, and playing guitar (loudly) in his basement like it was yesterday. Jon already new the accordion, so he picked up the guitar quickly. He was a strong opponent in karate and taekwondo. On Friday nights a group of us would go to the Red Barn dance and try to talk to girls. One summer in high school we worked at the Oshawa Driving Range collecting golf balls. We had a lot of laughs with the owner Ben. One time Ben told us a joke, and every time Jon and I passed each other on the tractors collecting the balls, we broke out laughing again.
In grade 11 (1986) we took a school trip to Hawaii, and stayed in the same hotel room. Jon was entranced by the beaches and the views, and vowed to be amongst palm trees as much as possible in the future. In 1992 Jon and I drove down to Daytona Beach for Spring Break, and in 2004 we took a trip to Cancun: each time he commented, “There are the palm trees again.” He was a good travel companion and helped make the trips that much more fun.
Jon was always curious and wanted to try new things. He had many aspirations (in grade 6 he wanted to get into the Guinness Book of World Records with the biggest ball of elastics. He made a pretty big one!). His biggest aspiration was to become a successful businessman. Jon once asked Donald Trump if he could be his apprentice, and that was before the TV show even existed. He was smart (always beat me on tests), and he was very funny. I remember laughing many times in the cafeteria after Jon made some comment.
He will be missed.
My deepest sympathies to Sofia, Linda, Mark, Cindy, Sofia, Joshua, Ethan, and everyone else who were a part of Jon’s life. I hope you can find some solace in the good memories you have of Jon, just as I have.

My dear sister Saf and the Gasior family,
We cannot begin to imagine what you must be going through.....we can only say that we know Jon to be a kind, loving, considerate, compassionate and intelligent man. He was such a good listener and communicator that it was always pleasurable having a conversation with him. We will miss him dearly. Always remember:
In the beauty of memories left behind,
in the lives touched and changed,
in the gifts of wisdom shared...
those we love live on always.

Jon was the CFO of CyberAlumni Networking Corp.
Jon, myself and the CyberAlumni team worked together from 1998-2000.
I was very fortunate to have met Jon.
I remember the day in the computer lab, where on my knees I was trying to convince him to join me and help me materilize the CyberAlumni dream.
Jon believed in cyal and worked tirelessly to make it happen. Eventhough, our resources were very limited, Jon worked without a pay, tirelessly, day and night. Jon was very capable and besides that he could get a job anywhere in his field, he chose to work as a cleaner during the nights so that he could support cyal.
He tought me how to be more effective as a director and that progression is more important than perfection. He also tought me simple things; such as having only a pen on my desk and how to properly change the toilet paper roll. Every time I change it, I think of you Jon. I make sure that the pulling side is closer to the wall. Yesterday as a matter of fact you were in my mind.
Jon was very respectful and a gentleman. He was serious and fun at the same time. His love for classical music was a witness of his gentle soul.
I admired his calmness and togetherness even in the most stressful of times.
Jon had given me strength. I felt his support and felt safer next to him.
He could lift me in my lows and keep me going.
I remember the night when after months of calculations, he had finally come up with the company's valuation. We were alone that night by the conference counter in our office. He opened his laptop, showed me some very complicated spreadsheets, looked at me straight in the eyes, and with much conviction he told me. This is it! Our company is worth $4.5 billion.
It gave me great pleasure to make Jon proud each time we had a small victory as a team. It gave me great sorrow that I had failed Jon and everyone else in not making CyberAlumni a reality. Especially Jon. I know that Jon was very angry about it. He had not talked to me since.
Had we made it back then, Jon's dream was to build a home for children with mental problems. I am sorry that Jon did not get to see his dream become a reality. But I have made a promise to myself back then my friend Jon and I keep my promises. That one day I will open such a center and since you are no longer with us, it will be in your memory.
My condolences to the family and loved ones.
