Gasior, Sofia (Zosia) , 72, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 28th, 2019 in Oshawa with her family by her side. Dear sister of Halina (Wladek) Ustupski and Stanislaw (Donna) Majerczyk. Sofia will be affectionately remembered by her many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends here and in Poland.
She was born to the late Jan & Helena Majerczyk, November 3, 1946, in Poronin, Poland and immigrated to Canada on March 31 1966. She was a strong and courageous woman and sacrificed selflessly to care and provide for her beautiful family. To her, her children were second to none and the love she had for her children and grandchildren knew no limits or boundaries.
In addition to her family life, Sofia worked for Chrysler, Ajax Trim Plant for over 25 years sewing interior seating. There she was a force as well, often urged by others on the line to slow down because they could not catch up with her. Her hard work and determination became an example for her children and grandchildren pursuing and achieving educational, career and business successes.
Sofia will forever be remembered for her devotion to her pets Baby and Foxy. She was equally passionate about her garden and won the Oshawa Bloom Award multiple times. She enjoyed old black and white movies, cooking, bingo, dancing and making folklore costumes and other special projects for her then young children and their friends.
