Diane and I offer our condolence at John's death. I know that it is late, but we only found out today while doing web searches of the names of old friends. I have attached a photo which shows that John and I met each other long, long ago, in grade 1a at St. Aloysius school in Montreal. We did not become close friends until high school, shared the Project Christopher experience in Prince George, BC, and remained close through our time a Loyola College. We lost touch for a while when we moved west, but John and Evelyn moved to Calgary where we rekindled our friendship. John, Evelyn and the children moved back east and we lost touch again. The last time we saw John was in 2013, when Diane and I spent a week in the Toronto area.

To Evelyn, Karen, and Jenny, and family!
I am very sad to hear of John's passing. I first met John way back in Dec 1980 when he hired me as a very young tech to work at Best Theatre Supply on Victoria Park Avenue. John gave me my first big break in what is now an almost 40 year career in the motion picture/AV service industry. We lost touch later in the 80's but I always told people about this guy 'John' that took me under his wing and showed me 'the ropes'. I met John again very briefly in the summer of 2011 when I was doing an Open House for a client in Whitby (I am now a Real Estate Broker as well) and I almost fell over when the door opened and this grey haired man looked at me said "Hi Jim". It was great to speak to John again after all those years. I will always remember John as a kind hearted but firm and fair boss/mentor.
Again, my thoughts are with his family, and I am truly sorry for your (our) loss!
