I am so sorry Mary Anne for your loss. Ron was my sergeant in Glace Bay when I got there in 1979. I was a junior Cst. at the time and I have to tell you he really treated me fairly. I could talk to him about anything. He was certainly an asset to the force as he had a strict dedication to duty. I think all the members at Glace Bay Det. thought the same thing.

Respectful, Honorable, An amazing mentor and always a gentleman. It was my pleasure to work alongside Ron in the Bedford Detachment and my memories are of the wonderful example Ron set for his fellow members as well as his superiors. His love for his family was the pleasure that brought a smile to his face and his gratitude for his family was apparent day in and day out. So sad for your loss Mary Anne and Glen but perhaps you can take comfort in knowing the amazing family message of love and respect that he sent out to those in his world. Hugs to you both.
Pat Joyce, Bedford, N.S.

When I was posted to Sydney, Nova Scotia as a recruit in 1977, there was a brand new Sergeant at the Detachment who immediately took me under his wing. Being single at the time, Ron and Mary Ann had me to their home many times for meals and laughter. When I was moved to Glace Bay Detachment, Ron was the NCO in charge and he became my direct boss and my direct friend. He helped me through my early years as a member of the Force and his attention to detail and regulations stayed with me throughout my service. He even managed my wedding as the event's Master of Ceremonies. I will never forget his guidance and friendship. Sharon and I will miss you my friend.
