Obituary of Robert Gregg Bird
Robert Gregg Bird, known to many close to him as Bob, passed away peacefully at the age of 93 at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa on Saturday, October 17, 2020 with his loving wife Ida at his side.
Bob is survived by, his sister Madeline Prentice, his son and daughter Gregg (Karalee) and Donna Marie (Don) Jordan, Grandchildren Nichole, Daniel, Donovan, Erica, Kelly, Erin, Katherine, Cameron and Jenna and 18 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by, his son Ricky Robert Bird (2008) and his sister Arlie Bateman.
Bob established his Heating and Air-conditioning company in 1963. He was greatly respected in his trade and fondly remembered by everyone who worked with him. He married Ida on June 3rd 1950. They enjoyed 70 years of marriage, raising a family while living in Scarborough for 47 years, before moving to Brooklin. His children and great grandchildren remember him as a kind and gentle father/grandfather who encouraged them to continually work hard.
Bob always took pride in his work, loved his family, and was passionate about his childhood farm in Madoc. He was a faithful member of his faith. He was greatly loved and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held at the DeStefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa (south side of Taunton Road, east of Thornton Road by the Oshawa Airport)905-440-3595 on Monday, October 26th from 11:00am-1:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the DeStefano Chapel at 1:00pm. A private family interment will be held at Groveside Cemetery.

As we never know how many will attend, the family wish to be clear that although restrictions are in place - “zero contact”, visitation and indoor funeral service are public.
