Isabella was my Godmother and I loved her dearly. We always kept in touch with each other from a child growing up to a few days before she passed. Before she left to live permanently in Canada I used to visit her in the jewelry store and at her home. While she lived in Canada we communicated via phone calls and would share our interests in craft because I do craft myself. She was always concerned about myself and my family and she always asked about other family members she loved her family. Inspite of her health challenges, she was a strong person. I will surely miss the phone calls. I pray her spirit is comforted with the Lord.

Mom, you showed strength of will throughout your lifetime. Your generosity provided many family and friends with gifts which you made with your own hands as well as material things that you hoped they would enjoy. You empathized with all , feeling their discomfort, pain and loss. Your love of family created unbroken bonds which keep us together today, even though you are no longer physically with us. This poem by Christy Ann Martine was beautifully incorporated at the end of granny's obituary.
I am very fortunate to have been able to spend the time that I did with granny and will forever cherish the memories.
I wish to thank the staff of Community Care Durham for looking after her and DeStefano Funeral Home for giving those of us from afar the opportunity to attend virtually.

My sincere condolences to the entire family near and far on the loss of a mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. I remember with great fondness the wonderful Caribbean dishes she prepared and the fancy outfits she made for the many festive occasions when I visited home in Maracas, Trinidad.
I am sorry that I could not attend the funeral service as travelling was not possible due to COVID-19 restrictions. I watched the beautiful service online. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
I say farewell to my sister who journeyed with pains and sufferings for so many years. Rest in eternal peace Isabella until we meet again.

Isabella was such a treasure. A lovely lady who I never met but who I remember fondly. I would speak to her almost every week arranging rides for her dialysis trips. I know our volunteer drivers, Lynne and Joanne loved her and she always acknowledged her gratitude for their help. She was more than a mother in law. The first day she saw me she hugged me and said I love you. She called everyone in the family to find out how they were doing and give some sort of advice. She is with the angels and no more pain. Thank you mom.

Thank you, Mom for all your love and support. I admire your courage and strength. You modelled independence and made bold choices for your self and your children. You graciously accepted the title of Momma Bear after my Mom passed away. For that and the numerous other gifts you gave to me including my Joey Bear, I am eternally grateful.
