Obituary of Cynthia Louise Elliott

It is with heartfelt sorrow that we share the passing of Cindy Elliott. We said good-bye to Cindy on Friday April 9, 2021. As always, her soulmate Bob was by her side and her dear daughter Laurel was in her heart.

 

Cindy was thankful that she lived a wonderful life!  She had countless extraordinary memories and felt very loved by so many.  She hoped that she left those in her life with wonderful memories and feeling very loved as well.

 

Cindy was so enthusiastic and supportive with an amazing sense of humour.  She felt very strongly that life is meant to be lived and that everyone needs to enjoy the moment and had faith that karma would prevail.

 

Cindy often shared one of her many wonderful stories of the people she met in her day.  Her chosen career was perfect for her.  She spent 35 years selling wholesale food and products to local businesses.  Everyday was a new experience and the more unusual, the better.  Customers became friends and some like family. 

 

Cindy had a love for silliness and spreading joy.  Her home and cottage were decorated with unique treasures. Whether a painted bicycle, a gnome, or Elmo, she was intent on brightening everyone’s day.

 

Cindy’s happy place was at her cottage on Shadow Lake.  When she had rough days, she would imagine herself sitting in one of her beautiful big blue chairs, on her dock with a cocktail.  Cindy made many friends at the cottage, friendships that spanned decades and became like family to her. 

 

Her breast cancer diagnosis was a chapter that brought her new strength.  That strength came from sharing the journeys of others, leading to unbreakable bonds.

 

She had 2 wonderful families.  Her family who chose her; Laurie, Bounce and Michael Elliott and her family who found her; Myrna, Peter, Cory, Alicia, Sophia, Chiara Pacione and cousins that became like sisters. 

 

Cindy leaves behind her dear daughter Laurel.  Cindy was so proud of the young woman Laurel has become.  She has a beautiful heart and her mom’s great sense of humour.

 

Cindy was so grateful to have found her soulmate Bob Brooks.  They enjoyed a wonderful life together.  They spent decades working alongside one another to build their business.  They were fortunate to share many adventures travelling but always felt the most at peace at the cottage together.  Bob was Cindy’s caregiver til the end.  She was so thankful for his on-going support and love.  It was a very difficult time, but it was made better by being together.   When it came time to say goodbye, as always, Bob was by her side. 

 

The world won’t be the same without Cindy.  We will take Cindy’s words of wisdom to heart and make sure we live life to the fullest, shop locally, treasure our special places and embrace a little silliness.    

 

A celebration of Cindy’s life will be held at a later date when we can all be together and honour our dear friend.
