Condolences to Mother Harroitt and family.
Fred was my friend, a man whose company I enjoyed. There was always something to talk about, even when I was complaining that he stayed too long in Jamaica and I was mad (in my own way). I truly enjoyed the playful back and forth banter between Fred and my husband Gerald. These two were always at it, they joyfully threw punches, and with much laughter they argued. It was a joy to watch from the sidelines. Most of all Bro Harroitt was an encouragement to me. I was blessed to see how he loved and cherished his family. You were not my dad, but it sure felt like you were at times.
Today I saw you lying there, and I know it’s true. Forgive me if it takes much time for me to get used to the truth.

Dear Mrs. Harriott, Pauline, June, Isreal and your families,
Sending my deepest condolences, love and prayers on the transitioning of Mr. Harriott.
I was deeply shocked when I received this sad news as I had just spoken to him during the week and then I learned he had taken ill over the weekend and passed on the following Tuesday. We had such a lovely chat, which I'm so grateful for because this would be the last conversation we would have. Mr. Harriott kindly spoke words of encouragement and prayer to uplift me as too I am going through a challenging time. I hope the Harriott family finds solace, comfort and peace in their steadfast faith to stay strong during this difficult time. I will continuously hold you up in my prayers.
I love you. Carolyn

Take My Hand, Precious Lord
When my way groweth drear
Precious Lord, linger near
When my life is almost gone
Hear my cry, hear my call
Hold my hand lest I fall
Take my hand, precious Lord
Lead me home.
Precious Lord, take my hand
Lead me on, let me stand
I am tired, I am weak, I am worn;
Through the storm, through the night
Lead me on to the light
Take my hand, precious Lord
Lead me home.
When the shadows appear
And the night draweth near
And the day is past and gone
At the river I stand
Guide my feet, hold my hand
Take my hand, precious Lord
Lead me home.
As I take a retrospective glance on my fellowship with Bro. Harriott over the past years, I can recall him often singing this song "Take My Hand, Precious Lord" at prayer meetings and at Sunday night impromptu programs. He loved singing and has a distinctive voice. Always pleasant, always helpful, loves the Lord and loves to pray.
I spoke with Bro. Harriott nine days before he took sick and went into the hospital. I wanted information concerning the bricks on my house, but as usual the conversation timely switched to Jamaica.
Bro. Harriott was a man of prayer and he was in charge of the Wednesday night prayer meetings. He would spend hours on his knees praying, thus causing us to all join in; singing songs like "I Can’t Feel at Home in this World any More", "Just a Little While to Stay Here", "An Old Account was Settled", "Jesus Hold My Hand", "He Set Me Free", and the list goes on.
Bro. Harriott has left an indelible mark on Erie Street Gospel Centre (now Abundant Life Gospel Centre), both spiritual and physical. Always working on the building and very instrumental in the total renovation of the church, including the church’s basement.
Today, I stand with the Harriott's family – not too long ago, I had a similar experience. Grieve you must, and grieve you surely will, but please remember in the dark moments that will come, our Heavenly Father will never give you more than you can bear.
To Sis. Harriott, First Lady Sis. Pauline, Sis. June, Minister Israel and all the Harriott’s clan – please accept my deepest condolences and I want you all to know that you are in my prayers for God’s comfort and guidance through this change of life.
Bro. Harriott is at home now, he is now singing a brand new song. See the angels are folding their wings to hear him singing his redemption story song! The Lord has taken his hand, the Lord has led him home to a much better place because he "could not feel at home in this world anymore".
I will certainly miss you my Brother in the Lord – Take your rest now!! It has been a very long journey, but you are at home now. We shall meet again on that beautiful shore in the sweet by and by where the land is much fairer than day.
From Sis. Verna Cole

We would like to express our deepest condolences to the Harriott Family. I have attached a photo of the late Bishop Cole and Evangelist Harriott baptizing my son Kevin. He was always willing to give us a ride home. Kevin and Christine recall a time when he asked which house belonged to them and they told him the one with the light. He then turned it into a catchy tune similar to a church chorus singing “the one with the light”. We will never forget that moment and we will never forget our brother in Christ! Sleep in Peace.

Evangelist Harriott, affectionately known as Brother Harriott will always remain in our hearts though no longer with us physically. I have fond memories of Brother Harriott from childhood years into adulthood. If you needed a word of encouragement, he would offer up encouragement with wise counsel. The Harriott Family
We have just heard of the passing of our Brother and Friend Evangelist Frederick Harriott. This has left us in a state of shock and grief.
We extend our Love and Deepest Sympathies to Sister Eudora Harriott and the Harriott family during this difficult time. Our prayers and thoughts are with you in your bereavement and loss.
Brother Harriott was a sincere and devoted man of God who worked tirelessly to evangelize the Christian Faith. My family and I are blessed and honoured to be baptised by the late Bishop Newton Cole and Brother Harriott over 25 years ago at the Erie Street Gospel Centre in Oshawa. We cherish many fond memories of Brother Harriott at church and visiting his home in Oshawa.
Brother Harriott will be sorely missed by the numerous lives he has impacted and inspired, in Canada and Jamaica over his lifelong Christian journey and service.
May his sweet soul rest in peace with his God and Saviour until we meet again.
Sincerely,
Michael, Gamene and the Brown family.

We have known Bro. Harriott, better known to me as Uncle Freddy for 43 years. Our friendship developed as we worked in ministry together at the Erie Street Gospel Centre in addition to working in masonry work together from time to time. My wife and I were fortunate to get the chance to visit Fred twice in Jamaica, the last visit was last year before the lockdown and visited him at the home he built and was soo very proud of. Every time we visited him at his home he treated us like royalty which was just the way Fred was. Fred was a very special friend who we will miss dearly, we will miss the many conversations, as we spoke often about various things including our families, work, the economy or the Blue Jays. Fred was also very funny, often when in conversation we would laugh at what he was saying and he would ask us why we were laughing. Fred was an influential man winning souls to Christ through witnessing or preaching but he also took the time to know our family and develop a positive relationship with them. We truly appreciate the friendship we had with Uncle Freddy and we send our condolences to Sis. Harriott and the entire Harriott family and pray for God's peace to be with you all during this difficult time.

Bro. Harriott you will be sadly missed. My first callaloo planting season, you gave me the seeds, you also gave me my first sunflower plant. You were always ready to give me something when I stop by. You told me how to take care of tomato plants and what to do to have more quality tomatoes. (who is going to tell me what to do now)
Our conversations were always such joy even though most of the time you did not know who was on the phone talking to you until you would ask, who is this again and I would answer Bro. Harriott you dont know my voice yet?
Who will invite me to visit their house in Jamaica when I am there for holidays?
My heart is saddened but I know you are resting, a much needed rest and although we miss you and your family misses you, God knows why.
We love you well but Jesus loves you best.
Walk good until we meet again.

Bro. Harriot you have this twinkle in your eyes when you start to talk about the goodness of God and you would go on and on without taking a breath. Truly you were a man of God and dedicated servant and as Job says (which will I change some of the words) Who can find a dedicated and industrious man. He is worth far above rubies. He provided food for his household, He extended his hands to the poor and needy. He opened his mouth with wisdom, his tongue is as the law of kindness. He did not eat the bread of idleness and his family and friends called him blessed.
He was a wonderful person and a child of the King. Today an unsung hero is at rest and his memories will live on in our hearts. Walk good my friend, we will meet in the beyond.

Mr. Harriott was a man who commanded a lot of respect. Like most West Indian parents, he raised his family in a respectful Christian home. Many of you may think he did not have a sense of humor, but if you sat with him long enough, he could be a funny person who would make you laugh. My aunt Dora has been his forever love. She will be quite lonely without him. My condolences to my aunt and the rest of the Harriott family. Rest In Peace Mr. Harriott.

I am still in shock of the passing of my dad, the only father I knew. He worked long and hard to provide for his family. Extremely strict in my upbringing but I guess that helped me to stay focus and grounded. So many unfinished businesses and so many unresolved issues. I remembered the day he met Woodroe, he said, definitely he is the ONE. I will miss him so much. Miss him calling me to ask how I am doing. Miss him talking about his beautiful home in Jamaica that he was so proud of. Miss him telling me to turn off the lights and not to waste the water. I will just simply MISS HIM. Love you dad, rest in peace.
