Obituary of Walter Skomra

SKOMRA, Wladyslaw "Walter"

Wladyslaw died September 14, 2021 succumbing to cancer.  He worked at General Motors for 31 years.  His passions included his family, fishing, playing cards, singing, chopping wood and picking mushrooms.   He was a handy man and could fix almost anything.

He will be remembered lovingly by his wife Janina.  Adored father of Chester (wife Anna) and Joanna (husband Nelson).  Proud uncle of Janina (husband Mario) Starosta, and Malgorzata (husband Jacek) Ilczynski.  Proud great uncle of Michael and Jennifer and their spouses. He will be greatly missed.

All prayers are welcome.  Monetary donations are not necessary.  In lieu of flowers,donations may be made directly to St. Hedwig’s Church for the renovation fund.

Visitation will be held on Friday September 17, 2021 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM at De Stefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa (south side of Taunton Road, east of Thornton Road by the Oshawa Airport)905-440-3595.

Rosary will be on Friday September 17, 2021 at 3:00 PM at De Stefano Funeral Home, Oshawa

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 11:00 AM St. Hedwig’s Church, Oshawa followed by burial at Resurrection Cemetery, Whitby
