Uncle Henry was such a kind soul, amazing father and husband, and always a pleasure to be around. He used to make the best Tomato sandwiches when I used to spend time at Uncle Henry’s and Aunt Judy’s when I was a child…memories I’ll always cherish. He’ll be missed by all. Matt, Linda, and Isla. Xo

I can only imagine how lucky Henry’s student’s were to have him as their teacher. He had such a kind, compassionate soul, and was a great story teller. I will always treasure our trip to Europe together and all of our sibling trips with Ralph and Sonia as well. And, what fun we had going to Friday night auctions, where Henry would inevitably go home with, yet more baseball cards.

During his childhood, Henry survived the horrors of the Second World War in Austria, his birthplace. As a teenager, he came to Canada, became a proud Canadian and contributed much to the youth of our country as a teacher. He met and married my sister, Judy, and they produced three wonderful children, who in turn, have produced grandchildren and great grandchildren. Henry's legacy is his family, the many Canadians he influenced as a teacher, his good nature and his love of Canada, the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Blue Jays. I couldn't have asked for a better brother-in-law. He was a child of war, but a man of peace and love

I had the privilege of being Mr.Kucera student from 82-84. Room 105 I believe. Awesome teacher and all around person. I also remember him managing a drive in on weekends. I was in line to drive in and he was standing at the entrance keeping an eye on things. He recognized me immediately also. Condolences. Kevin Gauthier.
