Sorry to hear that Ed has passed; he was one of the good guys: a very nice fellow. I haven't seen him for 25 or 30 years, but remember him fondly. I offer my condolences.

Just thinking of you today and over the Easter weekend. A time of family get together's and knowing that Ed would have been greatly missed.He loved his family time, with all of you.I was in the bank, and they have his obituary card sitting on a cabinet there, so I get to say hi to him, and seeing him with that big smile, gives us memories of the time shared with him. He meant a lot to each and everyone of my family members.He was always there for us, no matter if we needed advice or materials, or a pile of rocks, or gravel, it didn't matter, he always came thru.He always said "It is what it is, so just carry on". He was a man of integrity,intelligence,kind to others, even if they were strangers. I always told him that he should run for Mayor, because he knew more then what the councilor's knew. He told me that he went to Costco and bought a bike, or a big item to donate to a family at Christmas, and we know that he helped many families out over the years.He helped us figure things out at work, when my salesman,basically took the money and ran. He dropped everything that he had to do, and took the matters into his own hands.We were ever so grateful for that. Another time, he helped us when bob got in trouble crossing the border.He then again, dropped everything, used his charming voice to convince the border patrol crew, that Bob wasn't a criminal.He helped us with all of the paper work, that had to filled out.We were blessed to always have him more as a friend, then a Landlord.We were so glad to have seen him before he passed. It's almost like he waited for us, and that Bob was able to say his good-bye's. He will always be in our hearts, and never forgotten.We know that he will live on in his children and grandchildren,and to you Eva, for always being there for him, even when you were dealing with your own health issues.You are an inspiration to many, and had to cope with the good and bad days, the most, over the years, that Ed had to suffer every day with this pain. You stood by his side, and did what you could.We hope that God will give you the strength to carry on, stay healthy and we will always be here when you need us.Love Always!

With deepest sympathy. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family at this sad time. Blohm family have fond memories of summer on soccer fields with Edd my boys used to call him the candy man. He never came without treats for the boys.

I first met Ed back 9 years ago when I became employment in the MP's office in "The Lord Simcoe Place". I was assigned a parking spot and had to go and visit Ed to give him my plate number.
I knocked and was greeted by a howl from behind the door stating to come on in, I walked through the door and then through another to be greeted by a large man sitting behind a rather large desk! The smile from the greeting will stay with me always. Ed was such an engaging person, he drew you into him, made you feel comfortable and at ease.
I came back to that office many mornings to chat, he shared many stories with me over the years, he spoke of his family often, for he loved them so. I miss my morning drop ins into his office.
I have referred to Ed as a Santa Claus in disguise, he always gave so freely of himself to others. Ed I will miss you, from the bottom of my heart I will miss you!

Condolences from myself and my family. I did not have the priviledge of meeting Ed but my daughter Jean Payne has been employed by Ed. Now being away from my daughter and only seeing her every second year it is hard not to worry but it was always comforting to know she could depend on Ed for friendship and advice.
