What can you say about a friendship with a man that you have never met, well that’s exactly what we had, Hugh and Louise stayed in our home in Florida for the last few years. We laughed that they spent more time there than we did & we had exactly the same sense of humour, enjoyed sports & a beer. Nothing was ever difficult when dealing with Hugh, an honest & straightforward guy who enjoyed every minute of every day, he enjoyed life to the full that’s for sure, RIP my friend...god bless Louise and the family,..
Live life for today as none of us are guaranteed tomorrow.
Tony & Mary Spearing.

We would like to offer our condolences on your loss. Hughie holds a special place for me as he was my Godfather. I always knew I had a home in his. He and my dad were good friends for 60 years and thy died almost 6 months apart to the day. At least they did not have long to miss each other. Heather and family

To The Martin Family
I will leave it to others to ascribe toHugh the qualities that made him Hughie..
Most of you are familiar with the Irish saying”May you be in Heaven 1/2 hour before the Devil knows you are dead”.
Well it has been 6 days and the Devil still does not know, because no one who has met Hughie either for 5 minutes or who
knew him for 5 or 50 years would let the Devil know.
I am sure he is in Heaven and by now has met up with his mom and dad, Betsy and Peter as well as his brothers Brian, Peter
and Terry.
Because of his love of music he is probably ‘Sittin’ On The Dock Of The Bay’ with his pal Jimmy having a beer or maybe a
Drambuie and telling war stories.
Rest In Peace Hughie
Love you my friend
‘Till we meet again
Bob. (Mamie)

Andrea, Tony, Sam, Ben and Zoe, we are so sorry for the loss of your beloved Grampy and dad. It's a very hard thing to process and I know he was a big part of your lives. Although we never met him, he sounded like a wonderful and caring man. And we've certainly all benefited from Andrea's sense of humour which I'm sure was passed down from him, based on anecdotes we've heard. We are here if you need anything. Please pass along our condolences to the rest of your family too.
Lisa, John, Liam and Quinn
