Obituary of Eric Larmour

Eric Keith Larmour June 17, 1943 ~ March 9, 2013 Eric passed away suddenly at the Rouge Valley Health System-Ajax/Pickering site, surrounded by his loving wife of 40 years and his children. He was a loving husband and best friend to his wife Pat (nee Rolfe), an exemplary father to his children, Dana (Greg), Scott (Sonya), and Brent (Beth) and a silly, fun-loving Grandpa to his grandchildren, Meghan, Anderson and Brayden. He will be dearly missed by his brothers and sister, Ken (Diane), Richard (Jean) and Nancy (Bill), his 92 year old mother-in-law, Muriel, and his many nieces, nephews and in-laws. Eric was a teacher for 47 years with the Toronto District School Board, where he inspired students with his love for learning and his passion for art. Those who knew Eric knew that he lived and breathed the game of hockey. Whether playing goal, cheering on his sons at a local arena, or watching it on television, it was his sport. Eric would light up any room with his sense of humour, and he had a way of always making people feel welcome and at ease. Heaven is a much funnier place now that he is there. We are certain that he has been greeted by those loved ones who have passed before him, including his mother (Marjory), father (Herbert) and father-in-law (Victor Rolfe). A special thanks to the wonderful staff at the Rouge Valley ICU, your knowledge and kindness will not be forgotten. Family and friends will be received at DeStefano Funeral Home (1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa, 905-440-3595) on Tuesday March 12th from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A service to celebrate Eric's life will take place on Wednesday March 13th at 1pm at King Street Church (611 King St. W., Oshawa).
