In Memory of
Mary (Gallant) Rogers
1929- 2020
Mary/Mom/Nanny passed away on June 14, 2020 in her home in
Pickering Ontario surrounded by her loving family.
Mary Judith Gallant was born October 19, 1929 in Hope River PEI
to Joseph O and Faustina Gallant the eleventh of their twelve
children.
On January 2, 1950, in Toronto Ontario she married the love of
her life, Howard William Rogers.
She is the beloved mother of their 8 children, Norman (Charlene),
Linda (Bert), Lena, Robert (Kathy), John Armand (Cynthia), Richard
(Karen), Cathy (Stephen), and Nancy (Gord).
Cherished Grandmother/Nanny to Jaime, Kevin (Rachel), Mark
(Joelle), Jason (Nicole), Brendan, Ashley, Lindsay (Jordan), Eric,
Melissa (Jordan), Megan, Cameron (Tori), Jackson, Caeden, Kelsy
(Matt), Alana, Jacqueline (Marco), Kristy (Chris), John and
Rhiannon, and her great grandchildren Sasha, Gwen, Taya, Tristan,
Nash, Miller, Wade, Tanner, Alessia, and Skylar.
She was predeceased by her loving parents (Joseph and Faustina
Gallant) and brothers and sisters (Melina, John James, Lucy,
Martin, Margaret, Sophie, Albert, Eva, Amos and Kathleen), her
youngest daughter Nancy and her great-grandson Brayden. She is
survived by her brother Vincent.
Mary loved and supported her family unconditionally and she lovingly
embraced each new member as our Rogers circle continued to grow.
Her face would light up whenever she saw the babies of her babies.
Her joy so magically captured in the many photos that will now give
us comfort.
She loved life and passed her passion for living it to her children
and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Going forward many of
us will take comfort wrapped in her “Created with Love by Mom”
quilts, afghans, mittens, hats, and sweaters. Her work here is done
but her legacy will live on.
There will be a private family service with a Celebration of Life
planned for later this year. In lieu of flowers a donation to the
Canadian Kidney Foundation (www.kidney.ca) would be appreciated.
