Elizabeth Puskas : Our Keresztmama - Godmother Our deepest condolences to Nancy ( Doug ) David ( Joan ) and their families. Elizabeth, along with her husband Joe, were Godparents to my twin sister ( Agnes Vago - Posta ) and me (Eszter Vago - Calder ). They were involved in our early years in the Hungarian community in Toronto and Oshawa. Elizabeth was a bridesmaid when my parents, Nyiri Margit and Vago Bela were married in Toronto in June 1941, at the Hungarian Presbyterian Church. My parents asked them to be our Canadian Godparents, a duty they took on willingly. We were blessed with their commitment. Our honourary Godparents were in Hungary - Nyiri Agnes, sister of my mother - Margit, and Vago Bertalan, brother of my father - Bela, It was never revealed which twin was their obligation. It didn't matter to the Joe and Elizabeth, took both of us, to which we were ever grateful. Elizabeth asked us if we knew which one of us was assigned to her, and we answered that we knew not. We just knew that she was Keresztmama to both of us. She loved us both. We honour her memory. Sincerely, Ester Calder and Agnes Posta and Family.
